Job Listings

For those interested in perusing some current job listings, you can visit www.jenster.com/joblist.htm This is Jennifer LaFleur's work. She says it will be updated later today. Another local site worth a view is operated by the University of North Texas. The link is http://web3.unt.edu/journalism/find_jobs1.php A third one is www.indeed.com. It combines a bunch of different job search sites into one omnibus one.

Happy hunting.

Don't forget journalismjobs.com! Found this there -- would be such a cool job for the right person:

Position: College Newspaper Adviser
Company: University of Texas at Arlington
Location: Texas
Job Status: Full-time
Ad Expires: September 6, 2008
Job ID: 959103

Description:
The University of Texas at Arlington is looking for the next great adviser for our award-winning student newspaper, The Shorthorn.

The adviser, who is also an Assistant Director in the UTA Student Publications Department, is one of seven fulltime staff members who provide advice, training and administrative support for the 70 staff members of the student-run Shorthorn, which Texas APME has named the best daily college newspaper in Texas for five consecutive years. The Shorthorn’s online edition, www.theshorthorn.com, is currently a finalist for the highest award in college media.

We are a good operation that is constantly looking for ways to become better. Our goal is to provide the resources, environment and opportunities that will allow any student who is on The Shorthorn staff to become as good as he or she wants to be while providing the university community with its best source of news and information about UTA. Along the way, we provide experience for students preparing for careers in journalism, whether in a print, broadcast, online or other format. The success of The Shorthorn and our alumni demonstrates that we frequently (and happily) meet our goal. We're looking for someone who shares that goal and who can help us continue to meet it.

About the university: UTA has approximately 25,000 students and is located in Arlington, midway between Dallas and Fort Worth. Student Publications is part of the UTA Division of Student Affairs.

For more information about the position and application instructions, go to the UTA Employment home page, http://www.uta.edu/jobs. (Applicants MUST complete the online application, then provide additional information listed in the job posting.)

Review of applications will begin immediately.
